Iceland - Gospel Channel serves as a vital platform for the global Icelandic community and offers a rich tapestry of programming that spans a wide range of interests, including Christian TV, and gospel
One tiny island, reaching across the entire world
On November 8th, 1991, God spoke to evangelist Erik Erikson to build a Christian TV station in Iceland. Bro. Erikson applied for a TV license, secured the authority to broadcast Christian Television 24 hours a day, and went on the air on July 28, 1992. Gospel Channel has been visited by many preachers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has also prepared several evangelistic crusades in Iceland. Now, more than 80% of the population in Iceland can receive our local Christian TV signal through terrestrial transmitters, cable systems, and IPTV.
Gospel Channel is on the Thor V satellite which is dedicated to Scandinavia and the Astra 2G satellite which reaches the rest of Europe. Our free-to-air satellites reach over 49 million households. Also, reaching over 13 million subscribers, Gospel Channel can be seen on SKY UK in Great Britain and Ireland, and Canal Digital in Norway.
